Dennis A. Jablonski, 69, of 35 Wall Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 31, 2016 at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Amsterdam, with his sons by his side. Born on March 23, 1947, he was the son of the late Alexander and Wanda Kowalski Jablonski. Dennis received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He was last employed as a livery driver in Las Vegas, NV. Dennis is survived by two sons, Shawn and Jay Jablonski (Heather) one sister, Denise Quist (Robert), one brother, David Jablonski (Lisa) two grandchildren, Alexander and Jillian Jablonski. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Dennis was the former owner of the Lost Valley Bar and Grill; he was a former substitute teacher in the Greater Amsterdam School District, past Commander of the Sons of the John J. Wyszomirski American Legion Post # 701, and the 4th District Commander of the American Legion Sons. He enjoyed watching his sons play sports and was in several Dart and Softball Leagues himself. He also enjoyed Bocce and traveling. Cremation was held at Park View Crematorium in Schenectady, NY. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Memorial gifts in Dennis’s name may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 50-52 Cornell Street or Sons of the American Legion, 123 West Main Street, and both Amsterdam, NY 12010.
