Christopher I. Palmieri, 27, of Chapman Drive, Amsterdam, NY passed away Saturday May 7, 2016. Born in Gloversville, NY on August 26, 1988, he was the son of Dean and Andrea Gendron Palmieri. Chris received his education in the Mayfield Central School District. Chris was an active member of United States Army National Guard, 109th Airlift Wing, NY, at Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia, NY. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Johnstown Lodge 1185. Chris was last employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr Luz Alvarez in Johnstown, NY. He previously worked for JAVAC, GAVAC, Rural Metro and Fulton County Ambulance services Chris is survived by his parents, Dean and Andrea of Gloversville, one brother, Erik Palmieri of Broadalbin, NY, one sister, Elise Palmieri of Schenectady, NY, grandmother, Mary Ann Palmieri of Amsterdam, one niece Piper Palmieri, and his girlfriend, Aimee Bradt of Amsterdam. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Chris was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Fred Palmieri and his maternal grandparents, Andre and Norinne Gendron. A memorial service for Chris will be held Sunday May 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Riley Mortuary, Sunday from 1:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Memorial gifts in Chris’ name may be made to JAVAC, 231 N. Perry St., Johnstown, NY 12095 or to James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078.
