Cynthia Louise Peterson, 68, of Rumson, formerly of Staten Island, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Cynthia was born on Staten Island. She attended St. Mary’s Hospital for Children and she chaired many charitable positions, including her work for Staten Island Mental Health Society. She was a 10 year management representative at Peterson Properties Real Estate Group in Fair Haven and formerly at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate in Sea Bright. She was also a team member of many agencies including Allegro Real Estate and Diane Ailor Associates. She was predeceased by her husband, Gene Peterson in 1973 and her loving parernts, Robert Helburn in 2008 and Louise Helburn in 2009. Surviving are her sons, G. Craig Peterson and his wife Kathleen of Oakhurst and Ross Peterson and his wife Jasmine of Naples, FL; her 2 grandchildren who meant the world to her, Connor Peterson of Brooklyn and Kaitlyn Peterson of Oakhurst. Services will be private by the Fiore Funeral Home and a memorial celebration will take place at a later date.
