Gowdy, Marie J., age 89, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2016 in her hometown of Northfield, New Jersey. She was born on February 15, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA, where she was also raised. Marie truly lived a dedicated life to her Lord and the people she loved. She had an astonishing ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Marie was predeceased by her husband, William Gowdy and son, William Gowdy, Jr. and she was the daughter of the late Robert Hunt and Helen Hunt. Marie is survived by her loving daughter, Bobbie Claudio; granddaughters, Yvette Claudio and Lauren Gowdy; sister-in-law, Ginny Gowdy; nephew, Don Melchiorre; as well as many other family members and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 10th from 10-11am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 724 Maple Avenue in Linwood with a mass beginning at 11am.
