Janice Weiss Northfield, New Jersey Obituary

Janice Weiss

Weiss, Janice Josie (Miller), age 91, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Tuesday, September 20th. Janice, the youngest of five children, was born and raised in Atlantic City. She was a graduate of Atlantic City High School. She loved working at James Salt Water Taffy and Eldridge Storage, both in Atlantic City. She then went on to work at the Duel Fuel Company in West Atlantic City and retired from working for many years at Pullan Electric Supply Company. She met and married the love of her life, Charles H. Weiss and had a double wedding with her brother, Norman (Dirk) and Hester Miller on July 7th. They resided in Pleasantville for a few years before moving to Northfield where she resided until moving to Somers Point in 1988. Mom was an amazing woman who loved her Lord. She was always faithful and prayed and read the bible every night. She always was a caring, loving, kind and loyal person who would always be there to help you in your time of need. We have been so grateful to have had such a wonderful Mother. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Charles H.; her father and mother, Howard and Roxanna Miller; her siblings, Howard (Heck), Norman (Dirk), George (Moose) and Clara. Surviving are her three children: Charlene Kinch and her companion, Laddie, Dot Weiss and Brian (Lisa), all of Somers Point; seven grandchildren: Stephanie (Harry) Green of Egg Harbor Township, TJ Kinch (Jennifer) of Somers Point, Brian Kinch and his companion, Joan of Mays Landing and Charlie Kinch of Linwood, Amy (Colin) McDermott and Katie (Todd) Simpson, both of Somers Point and Kristie Weiss of Philadelphia, PA; eleven great grandchildren: Matthew and Jenna Green, Joshua, Emily and Joey Kinch, Jacynda Kinch and Teddy, Natalie, Kelly and Marley Simpson and her great grandson who will be born in October and many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Holy Redeemer for the care they gave to our mother, especially to her nurse, Liz and to Rosemary for helping us care for her. A special thank you to Tammy who took wonderful care and mom just adored. A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 24th, from 12:30pm to 2pm with services at 2pm at the Somers Point United Methodist Church, Doran Avenue, Somers Point. Burial will be held at Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AC Rescue Mission, The Somers Point United Methodist Church, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.
