Passed away on October 7, 2016. Carmela was born in Caserta, Italy on January 1, 1924, to the late Pasquale and Antoinetta Ciervo. She was raised with her sister Maria and brothers Giovanni and Franco. Carmela met and married her beloved husband Anthony DeCurtis at the end of World War II. They moved to Long Island, NY where they lived for several years and then resided in Cherry Hill, NJ where they raised a family. Carmela was a loving and devoted mother of Anthony DeCurtis (Susan) of Cherry Hill, Carl DeCurtis (Jennifer) of Voorhees, and Joanne Ballard (William) of St. Louis. Carmela was the caring grandmother of Donelle, Kelly, William, and Elise and a dear great grandmother. With her loving soul, she always took the time to care for anyone in need. This was reflected in the great joy she expressed in the presence of little babies whom she called “Angels”. Carmela especially loved and supported her children throughout her life. This love for her family made her shine brightest. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday, October 12 from 9am to 10:15am at Bradley Funeral Home, Evesham Road and Rt 73, Marlton, NJ. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 100 Willow Bend Road, Marlton, NJ. The burial will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
