Andrew Jay Applebaum Obituary

ANDREW APPLEBAUM was a friend to all. His love of life and for others made him the type of person that you always wanted to be around. He had a gift for being able to talk to anyone and make them feel like they had found their new best friend. Andrew was gentle giant and a spirited soul. He was generous and caring, faithful and understanding. His unwavering optimism was an example of how we all should live our lives. Andrew left behind his loving wife of 34 years, Susan, his sons Jon and Kyle, his daughter-in-law Amanda and his grandson Jay. Andrew will be missed by his family and his extended family including his life-long best friends Lawrence, Dave, Robert and Rem. Andrew will also be greatly missed by his countless fishing buddies. Andrew grew up in Philadelphia, the only son to his parents Herbert and Judy. The parkway was his playground, spending much time in the natural history museum. He loved swimming, cooking, and hanging out with his friends at the Parktown pool. He went to Temple University and received a bachelors degree in Geology. He met Susan when trying to rent an apartment from her. Being the nicest guy she’s ever met. Susan knew she was going to marry him after 2 weeks of dating. Andrew was an avid fisherman who found his sanctuary on the beaches of North Wildwood. Memorial Service will be private, at the convenience of the family.
