Alice Joy Selverian

Alice Selverian (Demirjian) died on August 17, 2016. She was 43. Alice Joy Selverian (Demirjian), Ali to most who knew her, the youngest of three children, was born on April 17, 1973 to Eleanor and Harry Demirjian. After growing up in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Ali got a BFA at the University of Massachusetts, and a Master of Science at Philadelphia School of Textiles. Upon graduation she moved to California to work at Reebok for several years. She taught Fashion Marketing at colleges in Massachusetts and New York and moved on to Parsons New School of Design in New York City as a Professor of Fashion Marketing and Coordinator of the Fashion Marketing Program for seven years. She moved to New Haven Connecticut with her husband, Stephen Selverian, where the light of her life, Harrison Selverian, was born. She was active in NYC working on several projects at the Diocese of the Armenian Church. Assembling the exhibit for the Bronze Door project at St. Vartan’s Cathedral was her favorite. Ali was celebrated for her creative and loving spirit, as well as her warmth and sensitivity. As a strong woman, her confidence and charisma drew your attention when she entered a room. She never gave up on anyone or anything. Ali is survived by her husband Stephen Selverian, and her son Harrison Selverian, her parents Eleanor and Harry Demirjian, her brothers, Stephen and Andrew Demirjian, and her sister-in-law Dahlia Elsayed. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law Barbara and Arden Selverian, sister-in-law Christine and her husband Rick Fedeli, brother-in-law Matthew Selverian and his wife Angela, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.  A memorial service is planned at St. Mark Armenian Church in Springfield, MA at 2427 Wilbraham Road on Monday August 22 at 12pm. The service is preceded by a visitation from 10am-12 noon. An additional visitation will be held at Bradley Funeral Home 601 Route 73 S. Marlton, NJ on Tuesday August 23rd from 11am – 1pm. A burial service will take place immediately following at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery, Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark Armenian Church, 2427 Wilbraham Rd, Springfield, MA 01129 or the the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief ATTN: George S. Yacoubian, Jr. 150 N. Radnor Chester Road Suite F200 Radnor PA 19087.
