Gertrude Amelia Finn, 97, passed away on August 29, 2016, at Sunnyside Senior Living, Wall, with her family by her side. Gert was born March 14, 1919 in Jersey City, NJ to Mary and Stephen Semenecz. She was preceded in death by her siblings Rose, Caroline, Irene, Betty, Tess, Viola and Joe. Gert was united in holy matrimony to Michael Finn on April 19, 1941. Together they brought joy and love to all they touched. Mike, a Jersey City fireman, died December 10, 1995. Gert was a long time parishioner and active member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Jersey City. Gert’s life exemplified the teachings of the faith she so devoutly followed. In 1981, Gert and Mike moved to Holiday City in Toms River to begin the next fun chapter of their lives together. Gert made caring for her family the primary vocation of her life. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children, Pat McIntyre, son-in-law John; Trudy Aljian, son-in-law Rich; Mike Finn, daughter-in-law Barbara; Joe Finn, daughter-in-law Carol; Eileen Reidy, son-in-law David; Maureen Reilly, son-in-law Matt; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, September 1st from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Orender Funeral Home, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 2nd at 10:30 am at St Catharine R.C. Church, 215 Essex Ave, Spring Lake, NJ. Private interment will be held Tuesday, September 6th.
