Saverio “Savey” Pedone, 85 of Long Branch died, Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Born in West Long Branch, he was a life resident of the area. Savey was the proprietor of Pedone’s Market in Long Branch. After the store closed, he worked as a custodian at the Long Branch High School and then worked at Monmouth Park Race Track until he retired. He was a proud member the Elberon Engine Company # 4 of the Long Branch Fire Department and served as Chief in 1982. Savey was a parishioner of Star of the Sea Church of Christ the King Parish in Long Branch. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Angelina Pedone; his brothers, Tinino, Gasper and Mario and his sister, Marian Fragale. Surviving are his 2 sons and daughters-in-law, John and Xenia Pedone of Thetford, Vermont; Jeffrey and Kerry Pedone of Rumson; his daughter, Lisa Pedone Hull of Howell; 6 grandchildren, Brian Hull, Thomas Hull, William Hull, Oriana Pedone, Emma Grace Pedone and Matthew Pedone and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19 from 6-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. Funeral, Wednesday 10 am at the funeral home with the service to begin at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to.
