Mark Steven Anthony, age 56 of Monmouth Beach, died Sunday, June 26, 2016. Mark retired from the United States Marine Corps with his wife as Master Sergeants in 1999. He was an avid outdoorsman and lived for his family. Born in Long Branch, he met his future wife while stationed at Headquarters Marine Corps, where they spent the majority of their careers in Virginia raising their family. He was predeceased by his father, William Anthony and two brothers, Billy and Jeffrey Anthony. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Petrilla Anthony; his son, Mark Anthony; his daughter, Caitlin Anthony; his mother, Shirley Anthony; his father in law and mother in law, Paul and Ann Petrilla; his niece Tara Mercogliano and her husband John, his great nephew, Jeffrey Mercogliano, and brothers and sisters in law Dennis Petrilla, Sue and Rich Holcomb, and Chuck and Greta Petrilla. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30 from 4 – 8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 1st at 11 am at Church of the Precious Blood, 72 Riverdale Ave. in Monmouth Beach. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Monmouth Beach Fire Dept., 24 Beach Rd.
