Marie Poppa Laugelli Palazzolo

Marie Poppa Laugelli Palazzolo, 89 of Long Branch, died peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at home. Born in Long Branch, she was a life resident. Marie was the proprietor of D and M Fashions in Asbury Park for many years and then she worked for Nat’s Jewelry Store in Long Branch. She was a parishioner of Star of the Sea Church of Christ the King Parish in Long Branch, where she was a member of the Solidarity Club and Past President of the Rosary Alter Society. She was also a member of the Long Branch PTA. Marie was predeceased by her husbands, Anthony Laugelli in 1984 and Vincent Palazzolo in 2005. Surviving are her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Shirley Laugelli of Long Branch, Gregory and Diane Laugelli of Brandon, FL; her daughter, Diana Laugelli, with whom she lived and cared for her; 3 grandchildren, Gina Mulholland, Anthony Laugelli and Nicholas Laugelli; and 3 great grandchildren, Patrick, Giuliana and Jack. Marie best accomplishment, as a mother, was her three children, whom she was very proud of. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26 from 7-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. Funeral Thursday 9am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport.
