Katherine Rodi

Katherine Veronica Rodi (Thomas), 100 of Jersey City left the arms of her dedicated daughter and son to the loving arms of the Lord on October 8, 2016. Katherine was born in New York City but lived the last 96 years in Jersey City. She grew up in a large, close family of five brothers and one dear sister Adele. The family also consisted of many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. They all spent many happy summers together in Long Branch. Katherine is predeceased by her husband Anthony and her son John. She is survived by her daughter Deborah and son Edward, daughter-in law Barbara; her grandchildren, Christopher, John and Gregory; three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Adele, Jay, Janice, Andele, Harry and Richie; cousins, Kathie Davis and Gloria Orlacchio Brucker; and our loving friend, Catherine Walsh Pascarello. Every minute of her life was dedicated to her family who adored her. Lovable, refined, gentle, kind, caring, funny and generous are just some attributes she possessed. Prayer was an important part of her life. We will miss her forever! A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13 at 11:30 am at Star of the Sea Church, on the corner of Chelsea and Second Avenues in Long Branch.
