Emma Lauria

Emma “Cookie” Lauria, 83, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at home. Cookie was born in Jersey City and had lived in Matawan, Cliffwood, and Lakewood before moving to Freehold Township thirty-three years ago. She worked for LaChalet Pastries in Sea Girt and then for WaWa in Neptune until her retirement in 2004. Cookie was predeceased by her daughter, Angela in 1972. She is survived by her husband, Peter M. Lauria; six children, Mary Ann Belloni of Freehold Township, William Anthony Lauria of Toms River, Antoinette Ramirez of Howell, Peter Michael Lauria of Jackson, Elizabeth Schwartz of Jackson; and James Charles Lauria of Manchester; seventeen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:15 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the funeral home for the procession to her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 43Madison Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
