Norma Hopkins Obituary

Norma J. (Ondracek) Hopkins was born October 3, 1933 in Friend, Nebraska to Vlastimil and Olga (Kasl) Ondracek. She grew up and attended school in Friend before moving to Omaha for high school. Norma married John Hopkins on January 10, 1959 in Omaha, Nebraska, and they blended their family of six children; Bill, Dan, Debbie J., Jeff, Debbie K., and Cliff, before adding Lynette. John and Norma raised their family in Omaha, Millard, and Gretna, before moving to Waterloo, Nebraska in 1978. Norma worked on the assembly line at Western Electric for over 30 years in Omaha. She enjoyed going out to eat on the weekends, especially for dumplings at Bohemian Café, reading, and listening to live country music. She stayed active doing rug hooking and working cross word puzzles, and her favorite flowers were mums. Norma loved to travel, but her family was most important to her. Norma died on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Life Care Center of Elkhorn at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 21 days.
