Dianne K. Hanson, 74, passed away in Billings on July 19, 2016. Dianne was born in Montevideo, MN on October 25, 1941 to Clarence and Mabel (Bakkelund) Hanson. She grew up in Froid, MT with her three sisters.

Dianne married Cecil Garneau on October 15, 1960. Together they raised six children on their farm outside Redstone, MT prior to their marriage ending in 1989.

Dianne was a 4-H leader and she loved to read, sew, and bake. She was blessed with musical talent and loved to sing, especially karaoke. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sports events. In 1992 at the age of 50 she graduated with honors with a degree in Human Services.

Dianne is survived by five sons: Pat (Julie) Garneau of Wibaux, Les Garneau of Williston, ND, Rob Garneau of Billings, Mike (LaDonna) Garneau of Sheridan, WY, and Chris Garneau of Norman, OK. She is survived by one daughter Alane (Michael) O’ Dore of Joliet. Dianne is survived by three sisters: Connie (Richard) Krogedal of Layton, UT, Catherine Collins of Billings, and Venne (David) Peterson of Roundup.

She is survived by 14 grandchildren: Jeremiah, Justus, Levi, LaTosha, Maccalllen, Maccade, Madison, Morgan, Skylar, Conor, Kylie, Michaela (Zack), Mackenzie, and McKendra. She is survived by one great-granddaughter Avni.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Smith Downtown Chapel located at 925 South 27th Street in Billings. A reception will follow at the Pleasant View Community Room. Condolences for the family may be shared at www.smithfuneralchapels.com.
