Russell Dale Smith of Potosi, Missouri was born on December 13, 1937 in Floyd, Missouri. A son of the late, Harry Smith and the late, Margaret (Pinson) Smith. Russ departed this life on October 9, 2016 at his residence having reached the age of seventy-eight years, nine months and twenty-six days. Russ is survived by his wife, Ruby Smith of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Janet Conway and husband, Chris of Park Hills, Missouri; one son, Bryan Smith and wife, Rhonda of Potosi, Missouri; four stepchildren, Sheila Link and husband, Jerry of Cuba, Missouri; Shelba Whitlock and husband, C.J. of Lusby, Maryland; Randy Bishop and wife, Penny of McAlester, Oklahoma; Rickey Bishop and wife, Chrissy of Potosi, Missouri; twenty-one grandchildren, Hanna, Brian, Audrey, Eli, Katie, Heather, Kelly, Andy, Terra, Crystal, Mandy, Justin, Sean, Ian, Nickie, Vickie, Amber, Christopher, Colton, Connor and Calvin; twenty-five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren also surviving are many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Joyce (Hollinsworth). Russ served in the United State Army Reserves from 1960 to 1966 and was honorably discharged. Russ enjoyed woodworking, working around the property and tinkering on any project. He was always there to help when someone was in need or just needed some attention. Most of all Russ loved his family, especially his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Visitation was held Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Jeff Richards and Brother Alva Enloe officiating. Moore Funeral Homes was honored to have been selected to serve Russ, his family and friends.
