Marie Woods of Irondale, Missouri was born on March 25, 1947 in Berryman, Missouri. A daughter of the late, Harold Hammond and Gladys (Haffer) Hammond. Marie departed this life on July 24, 2016 at her residence having reached the age of sixty-nine years, three months and twenty-nine days. Marie was united in marriage to Everett “Dick” Woods on November 18, 1962 and were blessed with two children. Marie is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Gidden and husband, Jimmy of Irondale, Missouri; one son, Harry L. Woods and wife, Jeannine of Potosi, Missouri; her mother, Gladys Hammond of Potosi, Missouri; five grandchildren: Jacob and Joshua Gidden, Samantha, Shelby and Allison Woods; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her father, Marie was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Willard, Laverne Hammond, Alma Thurmond and one brother, Paul Hammond. Marie enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren. She was always cooking and baking for all of her family and friends. In her younger years Marie loved to fish and could catch fish when no one else could. She also enjoyed doing yardwork and watching the St. Louis Cardinals on T.V. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. A Funeral Service was held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Guy Conway officiating. Final prayers and burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Harry Woods, Jimmy Gidden, Jacob Gidden, Joshua Gidden, Donnie Belfield and Chris Belfield. Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
