Charles Edward Mackley of Potosi, Missouri was born on June 10, 1953 in Potosi, Missouri a son of the late, Josephine Elizabeth (Carter) Carylon and the late, Charles Roy Mackley. Ed departed this life on July 3, 2016 at his residence having reached the age of sixty-three years and twenty-three days. Ed was united in marriage to Mary Christine Drummond on June 12, 1999 in Potosi, Missouri. Ed is survived by his wife, Christine Mackley of Potosi, Missouri; one daughter, Jenay Bass and husband, Frank of Frederick, Maryland; one son, Nicholas Wilson and wife, Erica of Warrensburg, Missouri; one step-son, Billy Emily of Potosi, Missouri; three grandchildren, Isaiah Bass, Gideon Bass and Sterling Wilson; two sisters, Denise Stubblefield and husband, Jay of Laddonia, Missouri; Debbie Parkins and husband, Jeff of Ohio; one brother, Tim Matthews and wife, Renee of Pacific, Missouri; mother-in-law, Janet Drummond of Potosi, Missouri; sister-in-law, Cindy and David Merx of Potosi, Missouri; brother-in-law, Louis and Lorrie Drummond of Potosi, Missouri. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Mackley, grandparents, George Carter, Ollie Carter, Roy Mackley and Jewel Mackley and father-in-law, Bill Drummond. Ed served in the United States Air Force and was very patriotic and enjoyed sharing his service with others and was proud of anyone who served in the Armed Forces. While in the Air Force Ed enjoyed playing ping pong and foosball. He was a life member of the St. Francois County VFW #2426 in Desloge, a member of the Mineral Point Lions Club and a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 12 of Missouri. Ed also enjoyed camping, B-B-Qing and listening to music helping him relax. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends. A Memorial Reception was held Monday, July 11, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 8:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Tim Matthews officiating. Ed received full military honors consisting of a firing party, taps folding and presentation of the American Flag. Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
