Anna Belle Torwegge of Potosi, Missouri was born on July 31, 1936 in Anthonies Mill, Missouri a daughter of the late, Alice Olevia (Griggs) Stroup and the late, Ernest Alvin Stroup. Anna Belle departed this life on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-years and thirteen days. She was united in marriage to Fred William “Fritz” Torwegge Jr. on October 10, 1952 at the Potosi First Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Craig Torwegge of Potosi, Missouri; niece, Caroline Stephens of San Francisco, California; cousins: Beulah Hollinsworth, Doug Hollinsworth, Jan Loefler, Kenneth and Lola Griggs, Amos Griggs, Rolla and Jeannie Griggs, Vivian and John Mouser, Shirley and Delbert Griggs; close friends, Evelyn Lamkey, Doris Jenkins, Ruth Clawson, Marvel Chazelle, Marvin Turner, Mary Spencer, Mary Hollinsworth and many other friends. Anna Belle enjoyed attending church at the Potosi First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and helped start the Bus Ministry. She loved helping many people and even organized the Head Start program in Washington County. She served as Ward 2 Alderman for several years. Anna Belle also enjoyed day trips with her friends, taking them to Dr. visits, eating out and shopping. Anna Belle was known for dressing nicely with her jewelry and shoes always coordinating. Most of all she loved spending time with her babies, Brandi, Taco and Grey Boy. She loved cooking and baking and creating delicious and delightful looking salads. Anna Belle will be greatly missed by her family and many friends and the many people she has helped throughout her life. Visitation was held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Moore Funeral Home, Potosi. A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Jim Ainley officiating. Final Prayers and burial took place in the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: John Casey, Dr. Paul Villmer, Jim Nichols, Doug Hollinsworth, Ryan Rickers and Kelly Silvey. Moore Funeral Homes was honored to have been selected to have served Anna Belle, her family and friends.
