Ann Hasty

Anna Lee Hasty of Cadet, Missouri, was born on June 24, 1927 in Cadet, Missouri a daughter of the late Edward James Hopkins and the late Anna Myrtle (Portell) Hopkins. Ann departed this life on June 6, 2016 at her residence having reached the age of eighty-eight years, eleven months and thirteen days. Ann was united in marriage to Raymond F. Hasty on April 15, 1946 in Potosi, Missouri. She is survived by one brother, Tom Hopkins and wife Carrie of Cadet, Missouri; brother-in-law, Delbert Price and current wife, Alta, of DeSoto, Missouri; sister-in-law, Glenda Hopkins of Cadet, Missouri; nieces and nephews: Trudy and Dirk Stringer, Rodney Price, Lonnie and Diane Price, Kevin and Suzy Price, Jeff Price, Donna Brown and friend Rich, Connie Garner, Teresa Cusick, Greg and Chrissy Daugherty, Dawn and Nick Nixon, Leslie Summers and friend Brian, Lori and Chris Horton, Jennifer Hopkins and friend Jim, Stephanie Hopkins and friend Danny, Darren Wacker; many great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond F. Hasty, three sisters, Angia Hopkins, Fannie Mae Price, Mildred Ann Wolk and one brother, Harry Hopkins. Ann worked for fifteen years at Bemis Bag Company in St. Louis and retired from Standard Machine Company. She was well known for her tremendous work ethic and was well respected by everyone. Ann loved the many gifts of Mother Nature, working in her yard and spending time gardening, raising incredibly beautiful roses. She was very devoted to God and had a strong Catholic faith and always looked forward to attending Mass. She was truly considered the matriarch of the family and many of her nieces and nephews appreciated and felt blessed by having her as their Godmother. Ann was a very generous lady who was always donating to charitable causes and willing to give unconditional love. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and animals of all types. She loved spending time with her family and was ready and waiting to join her beloved husband, Ray, as she approached the Heavenly Gates. Visitation was held Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Tony Dattilo officiating. Final prayers and burial took place in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Jeff Price, Chris Horton, Danny Marquart, Chad Hopkins, Alex Missey, Gregory Daugherty, Don Hasty, Dirk Stringer and honorary pallbearers, Rodney Price, Lonnie Price and Kevin Price. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
