Zona Ruth McMullen, 96 of Sugar Creek, MO passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Private burial will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to the Salvation Army. Zona was born December 26, 1919 to Ira G. and Sarah Edna Seely and has been a longtime area resident. She had worked as a mail processor for the Federal Government in Kansas City for a number of years before she retired. She volunteered her time for several local organizations. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, painting, playing the organ and traveling. Survivors include: 2 cousins, Bruce of Hawaii and Charlotte Haugen of Portland Oregon and a friend, Phygenia King of Gladstone.
