Lorraine Maxwell Webb, 95 of Independence, MO went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Wilshire of Lakewood. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the Maywood Baptist Church. Lorraine was born November 25, 1920 in Smallett, MO to William Homer and Carrie Belle (Bunyard) Maxwell and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from NE High School in 1938.. She has been a member of Maywood Baptist Church since age 5. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, singing and most of all spending time with family. She had worked for over 20 years as an employment technician for the Missouri State Employment Agency until she retired in the 1980’s. She was also a member of the Sweet Adeline’s. She is survived by: a son Douglas Webb of Warrensburg, MO; a daughter, Dawn Hall and her husband Jim of Wildwood, MO; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Don Webb and a sister, Aileen Mitchell.
