Betty Jo McCord, 86 of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at her residence. A family visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel immediately followed by a graveside service at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Betty was born December 27, 1929 in Winnsboro, TX to Jester Seburn and Ruby Gladys (McGuire) Paschal. She graduated from NE High School in 1947. She had worked at Western Electric for a number of years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the NE High School class of 1947 Scholarship Committee. She is survived by: 3 daughters, Jean McCord, Holly Goff and Hope Harrington all of Independence; 2 sons, Mark L. Harrington of Independence, MO and John McCord of Kansas City, MO; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L.
