Marjorie L. Groves 1925-2016 Joplin, MO- Marjorie Lee (Gross) Groves, 91, formerly of Cameron, died Friday, September 9, 2016 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, MO. Marjorie was born April 12, 1925 the second daughter of Burton A. Gross and Lucile (Wiley) Gross in Grand River Township, De Kalb County, Cameron, MO. She attended the Garden Prairie School and graduated from the Cameron High School. Marjorie married Donald Miller Groves, March 2, 1946 in Cameron, MO and lived and worked on their farm in the Garden Prairie Community. They were married for 57 years. Marjorie was preceded in death by husband, Donald Groves; daughter, Judy Ann Groves; 3 sisters, Mary Ellen Granfield, Laura Grace Swanson, and Alice Lucile Moore; parents, Burton and Lucile Gross. Survivors include four sons, David (wife, Sharon), Salem, MO, Dwight (wife, Joy), Owatonna, MN, Duane, Albuquerque, NM, and Douglas (wife, Sherry), Carthage, MO; nine grandchildren, Sam, Daniel, Jennifer, Danielle, Devin, Emily, Bryan, Kristy, Michele and four great- grandchildren. Funeral service: 11:00, AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2016, United Methodist Church, 201 N Pine St., Cameron, MO. Visitation:10:00 AM, prior to the service. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, Cameron.
