Mrs. Betty Jean Gunn, age 77, passed away on Tuesday September 20, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday September 22, 2016 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Cash Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 23, 2016 at 1:00PM at Cash Baptist Church in Lena, MS. Burial will follow in the church cemetery; there will be no graveside services. Officiating will be Bro. M.L. Wallace and Bro. Jim Savell. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Gunn had lived in the Cash Community for the past sixty years. She was a member of Cash Baptist Church where she served as the church pianist for over twenty-five years. She also taught school at Sebastopol and Scott Central and served as the bookkeeper for C & C Water Association for over twenty-five years. Mrs. Gunn was a great cook and loved gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Lula Jolly Wilcher; one sister and eight brothers; and her husband, Billy Ray Gunn in 2007. She is survived by her sons, Donald Gunn (Tiffany) of Lena, MS and Greg Gunn of Lena, MS; one daughter, Donna Gunn also of Lena, MS; her siblings, Helen Graham of Philadelphia, MS, Waudine Moorehead of Philadelphia, MS and Paul Wilcher of Carthage, MS; four grandchildren, Brittany, Matthew, Kaylee, and Gregory Gunn. Pallbearers will be David Brewer, Frank Lyle, Edwin Pope, Randy Pope, Phil Rasco, and Danny Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick Bennett and Rodney Sanders.
