Mrs. Agnes Pickett Hartzell, 98, of Pope, MS, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Providence Assisted Living in Batesville, MS. Mrs. Hartzell, a retired dental assistant, was born on October 27. 1917 in Pope, MS to The Late Virgie Nelson Pickett and John Henry Pickett. She was a member of Pope Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also active with the Pope Woman's Club. Mrs. Hartzell is survived by her nephews, Joseph Rodney Pickett of Pope, MS and Joel Stanton Pickett of Greenville, IL; four great-nieces and great-nephews, Elizabeth Grayson Pickett and John Cade Pickett, both of Pope, MS and Cole Stanton Pickett and Rylee Nicole Pickett, both of Greenville, IL; and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pickett of Pope, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paige Hartzell; her brother, Joseph Barney Pickett; and her nephew, John Mark Pickett, as well as her parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 3pm in the chapel of Dickins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 2pm until service time at 3pm. Dickins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
