Douglas B. Hulbert, 77 of Ashley, MI passed away on June 1, 2016 at Ashley Care Center. Doug was born on May 1, 1939 in Ashley the son of Leo and Thelma (Danley) Hulbert. He served in the U.S. Air Force and on September 29, 1962 he married Jane Gardner in Harrison, MI. Doug had worked at General Motors in Lansing and was a member of the N.R.A. and the American Legion, and loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Jane and daughter Shelly Evans of Lennon, MI and son Brian (Tina) Hulbert of Alma, MI, grandchildren, Zachary Evans, Abigail (DJ) Detzler, Cory and Austin Chelsey. Great grandson D3. Sister Lianne (Allen) Thunell of Ashley, MI. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home in St. Johns on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. Burial will follow at Union Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Friday, June 3, 2016, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made for Alzheimer's Research.
