Ellsworth John Hall Portland Age 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on May 31, 1936 in Greenville the son Ellsworth and Ethel (Raymond) Hall. John was sharp witted and enjoyed being with his family. He was a farmer, worked as a corrections officer, worked at Mitchell-Bentley in Ionia and retired from the Capital Area Regional Airport as the supervisor of Terminal Maintenance. After retirement, he spent several years doing missionary work with MAP-RV building churches in the U.S. and South America. He enjoyed building houses and fixing things around the house. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerome Hall; brother-in-law, Paul Speas. Surviving are his wife 60 years, Patricia "Pat"; daughters Connie Hall of Mulliken, Margaret "Peggy" Hall (Gary Peterson) of Ft. Myers, FL, Nancy (Bill) Getts of Elsie, Barbara Hall (Frank Schafer) of Portland, Diane (Tom) Jekel of Hope, IN; Grandchildren Randy (Leslie) Brodbeck, Alan (Tara) Brodbeck, Blake (Valerie) Brodbeck, Emily (Arthur) Lord, Cameron (Amanda) Peterson, Holly (Michael) Roberts, William Getts, Jodi (Tres) Allen, Christopher (Mallorie) VanBuren, Christina (Jeff) Short, Charissa (Jerett) Kelly, Steven John Wakely, Jr., Jamie (Ann) Jekel; 25 Great Grandchildren; siblings Joanne Speas, Eve Espinoza, Katherine Bevan and Susan Tafoya; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Mt. Hope Church, 845 Ionia Rd., Portland with Pastor Joe Robbe officiating. Arrangements are with Lehman Funeral Homes.
