Nickolas Allen Atkinson, 21, of Nashville, died July 26th, 2016 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was born January 2nd, 1995 in Flint, the son of Jack and Sarah Atkinson. He attended Carmen Ainsworth and Maple Valley schools. Upon graduation he joined the United States Navy to serve his country. Nickolas was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed simply being in the outdoors. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and most recently known for his cars. He enjoyed playing around with them and tinkering on them. Nickolas was also a big Detroit Red Wings fan and loved displaying his affinity for them. As a member of the United States Navy, Nickolas won the award for top scholar in his academy class. Nickolas is survived by his parents Jack and Sarah Atkinson of Nashville, his brothers Skyler Atkinson of Nashville, Austin VanAlstine of Nashville, Stevie Watts of Edmore, and sister Alexandria Rose of Edmore. He also leaves his Grandparents, Brenda Stewart (Mike Symonds) of Nashville; Robin and Tom McCarthy of Chesaning. Sue Bonk Sischo (Claire Mercer) of Burton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Arthur Stewart and uncle’s Sonny and Charlie Sischo. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville. Visitation will be Saturday August 6th from 2-3pm. The funeral will be held immediately following at 3pm at the funeral home, 9200 M-79, Nashville, MI. There will be a graveside service following the funeral and an open house at the VFW Post 8260, 304 S. State St Nashville, MI will conclude our celebration of Nickolas’ life.
