<p>Donald R. Keating (Pete), age 84 of Ludington passed away peacefully at his home on August 9, 2016. </p><p><br></p><p>He was born January 11, 1932 in Ludington to the late Frank and Blanche (Kovar) Keating. Donald graduated from St. Simon Catholic School in 1950. He married Lillian Peterson on May 5, 1951 at St. Simon Church in Ludington.</p><p><br></p><p>Donald was employed with Dow Chemical Company for 41 years and 8 months, retiring in 1993. He then went on and worked at Ludington Plumbing &amp; Heating for 10 years.</p><p><br></p><p>Donald was a member of St. Simon Church and The Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, hunting, his German Shepards (Misty), birdwatching, as well as being a coach and referee for basketball.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife; Lillian, daughters; Kareen (Tony) Monton, Beth (Jim) Nickelson, Carol (Erv) Campbell, Mary (Robert) Hodges, son; Michael (Lorree) Keating, grandchildren; Brian (Cathy) Monton, David Nickelson, Ben (Charlotte) Nickelson, Matthew Nickelson, Curvin Campbell, Skylar Campbell, Cody Campbell, Casey Campbell, Danielle (Jason Holley), Allison Hodges and Adam Hodges, as well as 3 great grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Donald was preceded in death by his sister; Kathryn Gavan and brother; Jim Keating.</p><p><br></p><p>Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Donald will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at St. Simon Church at 11:00AM with Father Wayne Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00AM until the time of service.
