Judith Ann “Judy” Smith, 80 of Coldwater passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Laurels. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Very Rev. Mark Vyverman, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the memorial service beginning at 10:00 AM. Judith was born August 30, 1935 to Fred and Bernice (Deiser) Vachon in Fort Wayne. Shortly after graduation from high school she married the love of her life, Robert L. Smith in Fort Wayne on November 17, 1953. Judy worked for many years at Guardian Photo as a film developer. Judy and Robert moved to Coldwater in 1998 after Bob retired. They purchased a home on Long Lake, where they enjoyed year round lake living. Judy liked cooking and was an avid reader. She belonged to different book clubs in both Fort Wayne and Coldwater. Judy was a homebody and liked spending time doing things at her house. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Smith of Coldwater; many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother James Vachon; and her sister Jean Vachon. Memorials may be directed to St. Charles Church. www.dutcherfh.com
