Michael Forte

Michael P. Forte, Sr., Col. USAF Retired, of Wellesley, passed away September 5, 2016 at the age of 89. He was a graduate of Union College, Schenectady, NY, Syracuse University and the Air Force War College. Before his entry into the Air Force, he participated in the Bikini Atomic Bomb tests as a member of the US Navy. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Weber), children Dr. Katherine (Forte) Sargent and her husband Dr. Dennis Sargent of CA, Elizabeth Ann (Forte) Nahill and her husband Dr. Robert Nahill of Plymouth, Michael Forte Jr. of Weston, Christine (Forte) and her husband Paul Geoghegan of Merrimac, MA, John Forte and Corrine Levesque of Framingham and David Forte and his wife Robin of Framingham. He was the brother of Ann Nelson, Joseph S. Forte and Arlene Bruck all of Kingston, NY as well as the late Theresa DeBrosky. He will be remembered by grandchildren Rachel and David Sargent, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Benjamin Nahill, Anna and Christopher Forte, Eileen and Johanna Geoghegan, Lauren and Jacqueline Forte and great-grandchild Elijah Forte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 12 at 11AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Rd. Wellesley, followed by interment in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:45PM. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-5PM at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Forte’s memory may be made to the Wellesley Senior Center 219 Washington St. Wellesley, MA 02481.
