JoAnn R. McCormack Obituary

Of Belmont, passed away peacefully Monday evening July 4th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family in her home after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71.

Born on February 20, 1945 in Waltham; daughter of the late Albert J. Cassella and Lena (Petrino) Cassella, JoAnn was raised in Belmont and lived most of her life and for a period of time resided in Watertown.

JoAnn was a graduate of Belmont High School with the Class of 1962, she was employed with the Watertown Public Schools as a Kitchen Manager at Watertown High School.

She had a love of life and the greatest love for her family. She enjoyed playing games, doing puzzles and her many trips with family and friends to Twin River and Foxwood's Casino's.

Beloved wife of the late Frederick J. "Fred" McCormack Jr.

She is survived by her devoted & loving children Sean M. McCormack and his wife Nicole of Worcester and Dawn M. McCormack of Belmont, her cherished grandmother of John, Kyle, Ricky, Jessica, and Christian, and her dear siblings Dolores Howley and her husband Jim of Northampton, Patricia O'Malley-Manzelli of Belmont and Albert J. Cassella Jr. and his wife Deborah of NH. In addition she is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 325 Trapelo Road, BELMONT on Friday morning July 8th at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of JoAnn's Life at Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington St, Belmont at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday July 7th from
4 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
