BROOKFIELD- Richard D. Finney, 77, passed away on August 25, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 15, 1939 the only son of George L. and Katherine Finney. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years Nancy Lee Finney; 5 children Richard D. Finney Jr. and his wife Melissa, Amanda Franklin and her husband Dennis, Susan Finney and her companion Charles Wilson, Linda Ritzer and her husband Paul and Samantha Finney. He is predeceased by Samantha’s fiancé Duane Holmes.He also leaves 13 Grandchildren: Heather Franklin, Michael Franklin, Shawn Edgette, Charlie Edgette, Hannah Edgette, Mary (Mollie) Harvey and her husband Drew, Paul Ritzer, Jr., William Ritzer, Zachary Ritzer, Joshua Ritzer, Tyler Finney, Savannah Finney , Neely Finney-Holmes and his nephew Teddy Bennett and his wife Michelle. Richard owned and operated G.L. Finney Inc. in Brookfield until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Brookfield Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Brookfield Fire Department for 39 years. He especially enjoyed making the rounds to check up on his family and friends. He was a Boy Scout and especially enjoyed his trip to Philmont and he served his country in the Army National Guard. He will be dearly missed by his family and the people he visited on his daily trips. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery.
