Janet Beer

SPENCER -Janet L. Beer, 83, of 60 Wire Village Rd. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She leaves her daughters Lois Dunlop-Eddy and her husband Doug of Spencer, Karen Amanti and her husband Mark of East Otis, MA.; her granddaughter Micayla Dunlop, who was the light of her life; a brother Richard Bell and his wife Marion of Spencer; several in laws; nieces and nephews and her faithful furry companion, Sophie. She is predeceased by her love Arnold Beer, her parents Chester and Jennie Bell, and son in law Gerald Dunlop. Jan, as her friends referred to her, spent her entire life in Wire Village. She was a member of The First Congregational Church. In her early years she was a switchboard operator for Rice Barton. After marrying Arnold, her time was spent at home raising her family. She loved going to the beach, baking, playing cards, and most of all luncheons spent with her friends and sister in-laws. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 9,2016 at 11:00AM in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 163 Main Street Spencer. Visitation will be held for 9:45-10:45AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation St, Worcester, MA 01605 or Second Chance Animal Shelter, po box 136 East Brookfield, MA. 01515.
