William Beukema

William “Bill” James Beukema, 45, died on July 31, 2018, in Winchester, Virginia. Bill was born on May 29, 1973, in Toledo, Ohio, to James and Mary-Anne Beukema. Growing up, Bill was an extremely bright boy who never liked to be wrong. He had a charming smile, a great sense of humor, and a love for Daisy Duke from the Dukes of Hazzard and Pink Floyd. Bill was very artistic, with a penchant for drawing and writing poetry. After his high school graduation Bill spent four years in the United States Navy as a torpedoman’s mate on the nuclear submarine, the USS Sand Lance. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he began working for Kohl’s Department Store in Winchester, Virginia. Because of his extraordinary success there, he was promoted to run the Kohl’s Regional Loss Prevention Department in Corsicana, Texas. He worked for Kohl’s for several years before eventually returning to Winchester, where he lived until he passed away. Bill is survived by his parents, his sister Cathy, nieces Annie and Lulu, and several extended family members At his request, no service will be held. His family will however receive friends on Monday evening, August 6, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.at Jones Funeral home Winchester. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
