Millinocket – On September 7, 2016, Heaven gained an angel when Ellen Marie (Boyer) Morrison, went to be with her beloved husband, Bobby, in peace, without pain, after a long illness. She will be missed by those who survive her. Ellen graduated from Stearns High School 1949, and married her high school sweetheart Robert B. Morrison on November 11, 1949. They had 54 years of a most perfect marriage. Ellen was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Millinocket where she spent many years in the Women's Fellowship. Bob and Ellen spent many years as members of the Northern Timber Cruisers, and many days of hunting, fishing, snow sledding and summers at camp at South Twin Lake until Bobby's passing in 2003. Many thanks to caregivers at Stearns Assisted Living where she lived until 2016 before moving to Sweet Seniors Assisted Living where she received very good care and compassion. Most recently the family would like to thank Colonial Healthcare Nursing Home and Beacon Hospice caregivers for the excellent care and compassion until Ellen's final day on this earth. She was predeceased by her mother, Mary Emma (McLaughlin) Boyer, father Edward Boyer, husband, Robert B. Morrison, brothers, Lloyd and his wife Elvira, Carl Boyer and wife Pauline, Joseph Boyer, Ernest Boyer; sisters, Ruth Kenneson and husband Charles, Janet Boyer Burke. She is survived by her son Robert Michael Morrison and his wife Carol, grandchildren Ariel and boyfriend, Matt Keene, Bryce Morrison and fiancé, Jodi Smith and great grandson Michael Morrison; Logan Morrison and girlfriend Lauren Mason; daughter Donna Swanson and husband Larry, grandson Eric Swanson and wife Kelly and great grandchildren, Emma, Grace, Isaac and Alexander Swanson; grandson Marc Swanson and longtime girlfriend Amanda Gourgue; daughter Joyce Harris and husband, Bill; grandson Craig Higgins, great granddaughters Chloe and Sidney and great grandson Gavin Higgins; granddaughter Mandy Higgins Miles and husband Ryan, great granddaughter Daniesha Hughes and fiancé Casey Honnell, great great grandson Asher Honnell, great grandson Baxter Hughes; and great granddaughter Gabrielle DeOrsey; brothers and sisters in law Millie Boyer, Harry & Tina Morrison, Frank & Joyce Morrison, Gary & Billee Morrison, Joyce Kovalcik, and Paul Gonya; and several nieces, nephews, cousin and many friends too many to mention. Special thank you to Harry and Tina Morrison, Marge Moore, Mary Maragus, Cathy and Amederic Cote, Terry Given, for your thoughtful visits during her last days and all you have done for her over the years. Memorial services will be held 12 noon Monday, September 12, 2016 at the First Congregational Church of Millinocket, 247 Katahdin Avenue, Millinocket with the Rev. Terry Given, pastor, officiating.
