Wallace Eleazer Becker

Livermore – Wallace Eleazer Becker, 92, a resident of Livermore, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, July 31st, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 23, 1923 in Red Bank, New Jersey, the son of Eleazer Becker and Virginia (Dumont) Becker. He was a graduate of Red Bank Regional High School. Wallace enlisted in the coast guard at the age of 17, serving during WWII. He was stationed on Mackinac Island, MI. and during a train trip into the city he met and fell in love with Viola Bahrke. They were married on December 16, 1944 in Alpena, Michigan, and have celebrated 71 years together. He owned and operated Wally’s TV & Repair business in Red Bank, NJ, prior to going to work for Sears Roebuck as a technician in Middletown, NJ, retiring in 1985. Wallace was born and raised in New Jersey, and he and Viola built their own home there and raised their family there as well. They relocated to Maine in 2003 enjoyed the tranquility of their new home, Shady Farm in Livermore. Wallace was a life member of the V.F.W. in Middletown, NJ, and the American Legion in Waterville, Maine. He enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering with electronics and making his own brands of Shady Farm Wine. He is survived by his wife, Viola Becker of Livermore, daughters, Wanda Kobischen and husband Eric of Wilton; Charlotte McKennon and husband Thomas of San Carlos, CA, sons, Danny Becker and wife Joan of Haverhill, MA, and Kevin Becker of Livermore; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents, Virginia and Lee Becker and his brother, Joseph Becker. Interment with full military honors at Lakeside Cemetery, Federal Road, Livermore, Maine.
