Farmington- Pauline E. (Deshaies) Richard, 87, resident of Livermore Falls, Maine, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 12th with her family by her side at Sandy River Center, Farmington, Maine. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Adrice; her daughters, Mary Lord of Livermore Falls, Paula Richard of Portland, Lisa Sanford and her husband Andrew of Yarmouth; grandchildren James, Erica, Andrea, Jessica, Adam, and Natalie; 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; her sisters Bernice Disotto, MaryAnn (Mimi) Nelson and her husband Richard, and Elaine Doiron and her husband Norman all of Jay, sisters-in-laws, Cheryl Deshaies of Greene and Geraldine Richard of Chisholm, brothers-in-law, Emery Richard and his wife Lucille of Jay, Anatole Richard of Wilton and Donald Bryant of Jay, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters Wilma Roy and Jeanne Bryant, and brother Billy Deshaies. Pauline was born July1st, 1928 in Chisolm, Maine, daughter of Willie and Emma Deshaies. She graduated from Jay High School. On December 26th, 1949, she married Adrice Richard at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Theirs was the first marriage celebrated in the newly constructed Church. Pauline worked at Ham’s Rexall Drug store for many years. After retiring, she volunteered at Franklin Memorial Hospital’s gift shop. She was known as a consummate sales woman at both locations, and took great pride in identifying customer’s needs and meeting them. Pauline was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the Daughters of Isabella and a member of the Jaycees. She and her husband Adrice loved vacationing in Marco Island, Florida and Old Orchard Beach during their retirement. Pauline will be remembered for her generous spirit and sense of humor. Her love of family was her defining trait. She enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by a large group of grandchildren at family gatherings on the Maine coast, family camps and holiday get-togethers.
