Lucinda “Cindy” Gilpatrick-Whalen, 55, of 479 Sanders Rd., died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at her home, with her family by her side, after a short illness. She was born January 30, 1961, in Summit, NJ, the daughter of Robert C. and Roberta Lois (Boudreau) Allen. She was raised in Middlesex, N.J., and moved with her family to Livermore in 1985, where she resided for many years on Old Leavitt Road at the head of Brettun’s Pond. Prior to moving to Maine, she worked as a secretary at Kupper Consultants, an engineering firm, in Piscataway, NJ, and Knickerbocker Toys, in Middlesex, NJ. After moving to Maine she earned an associate’s degree from Brigham Young University and worked as a pre-school teacher in Fayette. She was also an entrepreneur, operating two businesses from her home - The Farmer’s Daughter, which sold homemade crafts which she made herself, and a commercial photography business. More recently, she was the editor of the Livermore Falls Advertiser. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, summers on the pond, watching old movies with her daughter, and camping with her fiance. She is survived by her mother, her fiance Thomas E. Whalen, son Michael, and daughter Caitlin Beairsto of Livermore, daughter Kristen Beairsto and grandchildren Noah and Lola Schwenneker, all of Livermore Falls brother Dan Allen and sister-in-law Marianne Allen, of Livermore; sister Amy Grover and her husband William, and nephew Kellen McLaughlin and niece Sarah McLaughlin, all of Center Ossipee, NH; nephews, Stephen Allen of Livermore Falls, Nicholas Allen of Lowell, Massachusetts, Jonathan DeRuyscher of York, South Carolina and her Aunt Beverly Redington of Hampton, New Hampshire.
