For several years, he worked at Bath Cycle and Ski in Bath, Maine and doing stone work with his good friend, the late Jess Tucker. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Brooks; his maternal grandfather, James C. Brophy; and paternal grandparents, Winfield and Katherine Brooks.
