Richard Gray Obituary

Richard J. Gray (Rich), 42, died June 26, 2015, peacefully in the comfort of his home in Carmel. He was born July 13, 1972 in Bangor, the loving son of Buzz (Myron) and Jeannie (Genevieve Arnold) Gray Jr. Rich was very proud of the work he did as owner of Gray Electric and was especially proud of being one of three generations to work the family’s business. When he wasn’t working, he spent a lot of his time in the outdoors hiking, swimming or four-wheeling. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, sitting by the fire, and especially the trips he took to Bean Pond. Rich was always looking for the next activity or project to do. Rich will forever be remembered for his infectious smile and laughter that would light up any room he walked into. He was down to earth, and truly enjoyed making people laugh. Rich was a good friend to many and always willing to help a person out. He was willing to make a compromise, and would strive to make others happy, even if it took breaking in to song in order to bring a smile to a friend’s face. He appreciated country music and never missed Country Gold Saturday Night. Rich put others before himself, especially his two children, whom he adored. He was selflessly dedicated to his children and always made time for all of their school events or activities. He cherished their many vacations and loved the time he spent with them traveling to Florida. Rich is survived by his two children, Kyle and Kayla Gray of Hermon; his parents, Myron and Genevieve Gray of Carmel; his sister Heather and her husband Matthew Campbell and their children, Olivia, Allie and Reese; also Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Friends are welcome to call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday July 1, 2015 at Brookings-Smith 133 Center St., Bangor where funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday July 2, 2015. The family invites relative and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor immediately following the service on Thursday. A private burial will be at a later date. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com
