MANCHESTER, MAINE<br>Pamela J. Fortin peacefully crossed over in the early morning of November 8, 2015, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She passed away with her loving and devoted husband Larry and her family by her side. She was born in Augusta, ME on August 30, 1949, daughter of the late Edward O. and Mildred (Howe) Rowe.<br>Pam loved to surround herself with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her time volunteering, traveling, and especially playing bingo.<br>She was a graduate of Hall-Dale High School, class of 1968 and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.<br>She had been employed by the State of Maine for several years. She had previously worked for Fido’s Market in Hallowell, Fuller’s Market in West Gardiner and North Augusta Market.<br>She was a member of the Cushnoc Senior Citizens and the Manchester Senior Citizens.<br>She will be sadly missed by her husband, Laurent J. Fortin of Augusta; two daughters: Theresa M. Fortin of Bath and Amy F. Gaudreau and her husband Roger of Topsham; two brothers: Skip Rowe and his wife Jenelle, Jeffrey Rowe and his wife Rossi, both of Farmingdale; three sisters: Kathy Beaulieu and her husband Leon of Chelsea, Gail Smith and her husband Chuck of Hallowell and Suzanne Heath and her husband Matt of Farmingdale; as well as two grandchildren: Seth Johansen and Tyler Gaudreau; a special friend and sister-in-law, Barbara Lee as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.<br>Pam’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Alfond Cancer Center of Maine, MaineGeneral Hospice staff and to all of those who provided her with love, compassion and excellent care throughout her two- year battle.<br>At her request, in lieu of a funeral service, a celebration of life was held in May and she was able to spend quality time with many friends and family before her passing. A committal service will be held in the chapel for Pam’s close friends and family at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta on Friday, November 13, at 10:00 AM.<br>In lieu of flowers, donations in Pam’s memory may be made to: MaineGeneral Hospice, P.O. Box 828, Waterville, ME, 04903-0828.
