Frances Hatton

Frances Bernice Hatton of Gilbert passed away May 28, 2014, Born September 25, 1927 in Bassfield Mississippi to Camellias and Mamie Daley. She was a member of Gilbert United Methodist Church. Bernice was born into the greatest generation of Americans and retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. having been trained as one of the first group of young female switch board operators. After retirement she enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and owned Bayou Bend Antiques for many years. She will always be remembered for standing up for what she believed in and taking care of her children. Bernice was preceded in death by daughter, Frances Carol Eskew; a granddaughter, Carrie Bernice Hatton and two great grandsons. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, W.R. (Wig) Hatton, Jr. Gilbert LA; sons, William Daniel (Bill) Hatton and wife Joyce, Dexter, MO, W.R. (Bobby) Hatton, III and wife Cynthia, Ten Mile, TN; son in law Duke Eskew, Gilbert, LA; grandchildren Chris Hatton and wife Destiny, Kingston, TN; Billy Hatton and wife Carrie, Paragould, AR; Amanda Richmond and husband, Mark, Monroe, LA; Becky Hatton, Glenmora, LA; Tim Hatton, Dexter, MO; Rachal Hatton, Columbia, SC; Ashley Eskew Smith, Alexandria, LA; great-grandchildren, Brittney Hatton, TN; David Hatton, San Antonio, TX; Hunter and Hallie Richmond, Monroe, LA; Travis Sermons, Kingston, TN; Ian and Griffin Hatton, Paragould, AR; Keller and Marlie Hatton, Dexter, MO; Aubrey Smith, Alexandria, LA; and special caregiver and family friend, Kathy Ezell, Gilbert, LA. The family will receive friends on Friday May 30 2014 from 5 P.M until 8 P.M. at Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA, with funeral services on Saturday May 31, 2014, at 10 A.M... Interment will be at Providence Cemetery following service. with Rev. Frances Guy, Rev. Wayne Stroud, and Rev. John Albrite officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Alzheimer’s Association.
