Jeffrey Alan Hewes, native of St. Francisville, Louisiana, died July 27, 2016 in his home at the age of 60. He is 13 years retired from 28 years of service at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Hewes; daughters, Kacy Hewes and Michelle Freeman and husband, Brandon; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn Forbes, Madelynn Freeman, and Tucker Freeman. Jeff is proceeded in death by his parents, Kent and Billie Hewes, and sister Kay Hewes Sullivan. Jeff’s love was his family’s property. He spend most of his life raising cattle and horses. He was happiest when he was able to make a kid happy. Over the years, he found happiness in seeing children learn to hunt on the property. It brought him joy passing along a gun to a young child that would appreciate the sport of hunting. But Jeff’s biggest love was his family. His life was complete when he had grandkids!
