HARDESTY, Timothy David "Tim", 19, of Louisville, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016, at the University of Louisville Hospital with his family and friends by his side. Tim was a brilliant, motivated individual who inspired those who knew him. He made everyone he met feel important and loved, and he could always brighten someone's day. He had wisdom and compassion beyond his young years. Tim graduated with honors from Trinity High School this year and was appointed to the US Air Force Academy. He ran cross country, and he is the founder of Trinity's Aviation Club. He had a great passion for flying. He received his pilot license through Air Center 1 at the age of 17. He continued to fly under Cardinal Aviation. Tim was also a member of LRC, the Junior Louisville Rowing Club. He enjoyed nature, hiking, sailing on the river, creating intricate origami and experimenting with fireworks. He is survived by his parents, Lauren Riney and Bob Hardesty; his brother, Rob Hardesty; and a large extended family and many outstanding friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the University of Louisville Hospital for their care and support. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made "In Memory of Tim Hardesty" at GoFundMe.com.
