HARROD, Richard David, 67, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at his home. Born in Pewee Valley, Richie was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, where he fought on the front line in the Vietnam War for 2 years and received a Bronze star. He was a pipefitter and loved NASCAR, Westerns, Little House on the Prairie, camping, fishing and horses. He never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Birdie and Geraldine Harrod; and stepmother, Eileen Harrod. Richie is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna Harrod; sons, Brandon and Michael Harrod; stepdaughter, Connie Liste; siblings, Carolyn Tingle, Ronald Harrod, Beatrice Anderson and Sharon Gordon (John); 4 grandchildren; and numerous loving friends and family. His visitation will be from 12-7 pm Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. A graveside service will be at 11 am Friday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, in Radcliff. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
