Obituary
Paul Vincent Hibberd 67, of Louisville passed away Tuesday October 18th, 2016 surrounded by his family. A native of Chicago, IL and long time resident of Danville, KY and Louisville, KY, Paul was a graduate of Brother Rice Catholic High School (Chicago), The University of Dayton and The University of Kentucky Law School. An accomplished attorney currently specializing in mediations as Hibberd Legal Solutions and as a partner in the firm of Hibberd, Johnson, Kang, Cook, Abbott and Flynn, PLLC. Paul was an Arbitrator with the National Center for Dispute Settlement, 2016 Who’s Who Directory Top Attorneys of North America, admitted to practice in the Western and Eastern Districts of KY along with the Sixth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. Paul was an active member of Springdale Presbyterian Church, his local Habitat for Humanity, and enjoyed his longtime passion as an avid golfer. While preceded in death by his father (Oliver Hibberd), mother (Helen Hibberd), and stepmother (Florence Gorman Hibberd), Paul leaves a legacy of an extended and loving family. He is survived by his loving wife Debra Schoo Hibberd of 18 years; children, Traci Clifton (Chad), Christopher Hibberd (Crystal), Matt Cecil (Sara), Anne Fischer (Daniel) and Lynn Giffin (Matt); grandchildren, Kyle & Kody Hicks (Chris), Connor Cecil (Matt), Cash Clifton (Traci), Liam & Sydney Fischer (Anne) and Trip Giffen (Lynn); great-grandaughter, Kaia Hicks (Kody); as well as seven siblings (Ruth Hibberd-Anderson, Mike Hibberd, Greg Hibberd, Barb Allord, Mary Ellen Adamowicz, Mike Gorman and John Gorman) and many other loving family members and friends. A Visitation will be held for Paul on Friday October 21, 2016 from 4-8pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40205. In accordance with his wish, cremation was chosen by the family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday October 22, 2016 beginning 2:00pm at Springdale Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, 7812 Brownsboro Rd, Louisville, KY 40241. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Springdale Presbyterian Church or to the First Tee of Louisville golf organization (http://www.thefirstteelouisville.org, attn: RG Davis).
