James B. (Jimmy) Johnson II, 94, passed away peacefully at 1:50 p.m. January 19, 2011 at his home. He was born February 5, 1916 in Franklin County, Kentucky and was the son of the James B. Johnson, Sr., and Estelle Wilson Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Josephine Strong Johnson, son, James B. Johnson III, daughter, Mamie Johnson-Day and sister, Alice Clellend.
Jimmy was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Clinton St., serving as Treasurer for Senior Citizens Club #1; an Honorary Kentucky Colonel; member of Jackson, KY. Family Reunion Committee ; and a World War II Army Veteran. He retired from Buffalo Trace Distillery, where he worked for over 42 years. James retired as Warehouse Supervisor.
Leaving to cherish his memory’s is his son, Freddie Joe Johnson (Frankfort, KY); sister, Mamie Mixon (Columbus, OH), daughter- in-law, Margret Lucas-Johnson; four grandchildren, James B. Johnson, IV, Megan Johnson, Tai Johnson (Josh), and Christine Johnson; three great-grandchildren, James B. Johnson V, Isis Johnson, and Osiris Johnson; special friend, Marsha Howard Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
